Paid trainee Sam talks to SBS World News about Jigsaw’s role in his employment journey

Nov 24, 2021 | Media

Congratulations to our paid trainee Sam on his national media debut! Sam was interviewed on SBS News on Monday 22nd November.

The news story marked the start of the Royal Commission’s hearing this week on measures taken by employers and regulators to respond to systemic barriers to open employment for people with disability.

Sam is helping shine a light on how people with disability face significant hurdles when it comes to obtaining mainstream employment and the numerous benefits of building an inclusive workplace and society!

Jigsaw’s unique ‘prepare for work, through work’ model has created 100 award wage jobs, 91% of those placed into employment are still working with 44 in the last two years progressing to mainstream corporate and government roles. With strong employment outcomes, our goal is to continue to grow and create 1,000 traineeships and 600 award wage jobs in the next five years.
